My memories of Carol began in 1965 in nursing school at UVA where she lived in the room across the hall from me. Throughout the many years that followed, we shared in weddings, reunions, and trips to visit one another. We had the best times together in New York City, the Bahamas, Charlottesville, and Tennessee. Ed and Carol would stay with my husband Philip and me for a few days in our Pennsylvania home on their way to Nags Head. I saw the devastating effects that Altzheimers had on Carol's memory, especially on my trip to Maine several years ago. I cherish those memories of being with her, her husband, and daughter Jessica. God bless you, my dear, for making my life much richer with your presence. I know that you are at peace now....
Sincerely,
Betsy Hoffler Dodd
