Obituary of Clyde Hussey Beaton Jr

Born in Augusta, Maine to Clyde H Beaton, Sr and Irene Foyt, Clyde was graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, Me. Soon after high school Clyde served in the Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic, stationed at Sheppard AFB in Texas. 

Clyde had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He made several cross country trips on his bikes and thoroughly enjoyed attending many a bike week as well as car shows. As a young man Clyde skied the East however he had a love for the Rockies and he spent about 20 winters of his latter life in Breckenridge, Colorado where he was always in search of fresh powder. He skied well into his eighties. In retirement, Clyde didn’t slow down. He worked for Christie Sports in Breckenridge, CO as a boot fitter. He took great pride in his skill and had a loyal following. 

Clyde was predeceased by  his son Clyde H. Beaton III and his daughter Lorna Sirois and his granddaughter Ashley Hartshorn.

Clyde is survived by the love of his life, Dorothy (Snow) Peter, his daughters Lisa Shea Barrows and her husband Victor Barrows, Lesli M. Bautz, and his former son in law René Bautz, Brenda Padgett and her husband Thomas Padgett, 10 grandchildren; Michael Bautz, Stephane Bautz, Jessica Bautz, Kayla Wolfe, Rebecca Wagner, Melissa Gonzalez, Ryan Shea, Matthew Shea, Colin Shea, Emily Shea and nine great grandchildren. Clyde is also survived by his very close friend, who is more like a second son to him, Stan Bryne. 

His wings were ready, our hearts were not.

There will be no services per Clyde’s wishes.
