Obituary of Stephen William Wadsworth

Stephen William Wadsworth “Wadsy”was born September 28th, 1949 and passed away on September 20th, 2024.

Stephen W Wadsworth, 74 of Appleton, Maine, passed on September 20th.  He was born in Plymouth, MA in 1949 to Nina Kellom Wadsworth & William Publicover Wadsworth.

Steve graduated Duxbury High School in 1967. He loved playing football, ice hockey, memories of Hardin Hill, boating to Clarks Island.  He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1968, served in the Vietnam War, earning numerous Military awards and decorations.

Stephen leaves behind his son Stephen K Wadsworth of New Hampshire, daughter Lisa Marie & her husband Lodovico Sestito of Hull, MA, daughter Nicole Wadsworth of New Hampshire, son John Wadsworth and his wife Priscilla of Plymouth, MA.  He was the proud Papa of William, Rocco, Marco, Brooklyn, Kamry, Ashley, Rachael, Johnny, Myah, Shaindy, Levi, Aviva, Chaya, and Asher.

Painting and paperhanging were a family tradition. Stephen was a friend of Bill’s for 30+ years, an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty Maine.

Everyone who knew Stephen knew how much he loved the “Ridge”, Moody’s Diner, Chase’s Daily, he was a huge history buff, anything to do with Gettysburg, and Chamberlains Charge!  Stephen will always be remembered for his infectious laugh and the way he told stories. We’ll always imagine hearing him say, “Eye of The Tiger and Fix those Bayonets” one more time.

Stephen W. Wadsworth is survived by his four children, 13 grandchildren, and loving sister Betty Ann Howard.

Graveside service will be held at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury on October 4th at 11:00 am.  Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute page.
