Cathy was a long time customer at Clan MacLaren. In fact, she and Roger were allowed to take a shortcut through the parking lot and up our back stairway. Cathy was what we called, one of our “customer friends”, where we felt like we knew her well and always looked forward to having her join us for lunch. We’re going to miss her sweet sweet personality around here. I’m glad that our paths crossed.

Cathy and I were not great friends at school....I was a bit older than she was...but we did ride the school bus together and participated in the same horse shows at Hill 'n' Dale. We were at a show one day and getting ready to participate in a class of appaloosa's when I heard her calling my my name. Another rider who was determined to win had taken scissors and chopped my horse's mane and tail into a ragged mess. Cathy said "we can fix this" and proceeded to help me make Sue look like she hadn't been sabotaged. We barely knew each other and we were competitors in the class but she didn't hesitate to help me. That is the kind of person she was even as a young teenager and I will never forget her. Kathi Gieseman-Rolerson
