His siblings, Joyce Depalma, Louis (Butch)Depalma, Hazel Tardiff (Kevin), Kenny Depalma, Gerri Harding (Trevison), Randall (Lucie), and Janice Stewart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews
He is predeceased by his parents Gerald Olen Stewart Sr and Edith Carrie Blair Stewart. He is also predeceased by his sister Shirley Stewart, Michael Stewart, and Sharon Stewart.
Gerald, who many knew as Pappy or Bubby enjoyed gardening, and he and his son Leonard had a great garden going this year. He was a huge fan of his children and grandchildren playing sports. He enjoyed seeing his grandchildren grow in their sporting careers. He liked bringing surprises to the grandchildren.
He was a New York Jets fan and a huge Boston Red Sox fan. It always made for a great football season as no others would cheer for the Jets. He also played Fantasy Football and did not make much, but it made him happy.
He always rode by his family’s homes to make sure they were ok. He even would call if he saw something out of sorts.
He was in the service-Army branch and will have a Military Funeral with Honors Guards. This will occur on August 16th at 10 am at the Maine Vets Cemetery in Augusta. There is a chapel that we will utilize for a brief ceremony. There will be a celebration of life at the VFW on Main Street in Fairfield from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be an opportunity for people to share a memory or story about Gerald.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to the Lawrence Varsity Field Hockey in Gerald Stewart’s memory.
