Obituary of Mary-Lou Corey

Mary Lou (Medeiros) Corey, 85, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 26, 2024.  She was born an only child in New Bedford Massachusetts November 15 1938 to Louis and Mary (Perry) Medeiros both from New Bedford. 

She grew up in New Bedford and attended Normandin Jr. High. She then moved with her parents to California where she attended Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach. While there she met and married Robert Anthony Goulart. 

Homesick for her family she soon returned with her parents to Massachusetts. Mary Lou lived many years in the town of Acushnet Massachusetts. She worked at the Acushnet Process Company, where she retired after thirty-five years of service. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for family get-togethers; she was a dedicated mother to her only son, an avid reader, and a gentle soul whose laugh and love will never be replaced.

She is survived by her only son Robert; her cousins Donald Perry,  Rosanne Shannon Perry; her Godchild and cousin Donna Perry Smith, Pam Stevens, Clay Perry, Carl Charroux and Mark Charroux.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mary Medeiros; beloved cousins Nancy Charroux and Eileen Perry ; and dear friend Doris Perry Bowling.

Mary Lou was an only child and her journey through life would not be complete without mentioning her dearest cousins, Nancy Charroux, Eileen Perry and Donald Perry, their bond that was unique. 

A private ceremony will take place in New Bedford in the near future.
