Obituary of Amy Sindone

Amy Lynn (Smith) Sindone, age 63, of Northport, Maine passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

Amy was born on August 30, 1960. She retired from Cornell University, after 25 years of employment, as a Student Advisor in the Computing and Information Science department. Amy was also co-owner of the Ithaca Popcorn Company. After moving to Maine, Amy worked for a mold remediation company and did eldercare until she fully retired in 2022. She enjoyed traveling, reading, walking, baking, spending time with her two dogs, and watching cooking shows, baking shows, home makeovers, and RuPaul's Drag Race.

Amy is survived by her loving partner of 26 years Robin Heiges of Northport, Maine; her sister Elizabeth Morris of Elmira, NY, and two brothers Brian Smith and Robert Smith of Pine City, NY; her son Joseph (Jessica) Sindone of Alpine, NY; and two grandsons Xavier and Cyrus of Alpine, NY.

In keeping with Amy's wishes, there will be no funeral services. A memorial service will be held in Maine for friends and family later this spring, and a memorial service will take place in New York later this summer for friends and family. Additional details for each gathering will be provided via Amy's Facebook page as they become available.

In Amy's memory, memorial contributions can be made to an animal shelter or rescue of your choice, or your local SPCA.
