I met Art through our genealogy research. To our surprise we learned we were descended from twins, his g grandmother, Elizabeth Cathcart and my 2g grandmother, Sarah Cathcart. My cousin and I asked him to meet us for coffee on our way to Quebec to see when they first settled. We all enjoyed the meeting. The next morning as we were eating breakfast in Quebec, I got a call from him saying "don't go any where, I'm on my way." We spent the weekend learning more about the area our ancestors first homesteaded. Love the memories. Rest in peace, Art.

Bob and Joyce and family,
We are both so sorry to hear of Art’s passing. He is remembered as a good friend all the way back to junior high school, and we loved seeing him at the class reunions.
With our deepest sympathy, June and Tom York

So sorry to hear about Art. What a good neighbor he was. Over the years we would have him over for supper or we would bring him over something home made and he loved it. Art kept to himself a lot but when we would meet mowing our lawns, we would talk for long times. Sometimes about politics or about a paper he was working on to give a lecture some were. About two years ago, his sewer pipes broke downstairs and he come over and asked if I knew a plumber. He asked me to help him because he didn,T want a stranger in his house so we spent all day and into the next and when we were done, he was so appreciated and he told me that I should have his corvair. The next day he sold it to me for a fair price and I still have it in my garage. Having good neighbors like Ray was a blessing. Me and my wife will always remember our good neighbor. Rest in piece my friend.
