Pat's warmth and kindness was evident from my first visit to their fantastic home. The house itself seemed to hold so many secrets, and Pat's talented touch made it both a homey and magical place. There was always something new to behold that she had put her unique spin on. I noticed and appreciated it all...even as a child. Although my new friends were different than any I'd known, and it was a bit intimidating at first, Pat always made me feel welcome. She was herself magical and complex, with an intellect, beauty, and sense of humor I recognized as a privilege to partake in. She was a natural hostess and mothered everyone innately. She was my best friend's Mom, and I am lucky I got to know her.
