I am so deeply saddened to hear of Janice's passing. I met her when we were college students attending Urbana '70 at Wheaton College. She and I would exchange letters from then on. Three to four years ago my letter was sent back to me and since I knew no one who knew her, I could only guess what happened. I googled her home and saw a picture of an abandoned house and thought she might have passed. But it was only a few days ago that I discovered she only recently passed. I never had such a friend who steadfastly kept up correspondence as she did. I knew she worked in the library and she regularly spoke about the wonderful choir experiences she had. I wish I knew she was alive from those 3-4 years ago until recently. I would have loved to make a trip to Maine to visit. If anyone could contact me and fill me in on her last days, I would be so grateful: srkawakami@aol.com. I truly miss her, but I know she is welcomed home to be with Jesus!

I first knew Janice from Clark Memorial Church when we sang in the choir together over fifty years ago. Janice had a lovely voice "alto" and enjoyed singing in many different choirs after that. We had kept in touch over the years as I live in California and she in Maine. I will always treasure the memories we had of our group meetings at the Pikes and other various homes, plus singing events. God Bless and keep Janice now and always, Judy Durand Humphrey
