Peter L. Burgher always went the extra mile. In difficult situations, when others said "No" to a challenge, Peter said "Yes." He knew many subjects well, and always had great suggestions. "In Winslow, down by the river is a wonderful walking trail," he would say, or "The Auto Museum" is a great place to visit. Cicero once said, "A good man is one who strives." Peter was a striver, a good man. May those who knew and loved him emulate his dedication to others. Let that be our gift. Condolences to his family and friends.

Ahhh Peter we are missing you so much. I so appreciate the many rides home from Church from you. We always had the best conversations. Rebecca and I loved sharing the many meals with you at your house and ours and I loved the lunches we shared in Downtown Waterville. Your commitment and work for our UU Church was awesome and so appreciated by all of us! Your kindness, clarity of vision, ability to hear and understand beneath the surface of what people are saying are traits too few of us have. Thankfully you did and all of us benefited. Your legacy will always be with us. Thank you Peter. You are so loved❣️

Peter had several unique qualities that endeared him to me. He could be adventurous, funny and humble. One of my favorite memories of Peter is when I visited him many years ago, and we decided to run laps around the Colby College athletic field one day. I don’t think either of us was in very good shape, but we ran many laps. As I recall he took the lead and kept running after I quit. The next day we were both quite sore, and I remember laughing with him at what idiots we were to do that. RIP my friend.

Justin and Lisa, please know that we are thinking of you. Peter was such a kind man. We had such a wonderful group of soccer parents and we certainly enjoyed all the years of watching the boys play and getting to know everyone. We will miss Peter and will think of him often.
