Obituary of Willam Alan Fuller

1 st SGt William Alan Fuller (Bill) 82 of Randolph passed away November 19 2023 at Togus Springs Hospice with his loving wife by his side. He is now in the presence of our lord and savior.

 

William was born the son of Effie Woodbury Fuller and William H. Fuller on June 21, 1941. As many have said he was one of the strongest men they have ever known and was well known for his beautiful smile.

 

He joined the military at the age of 17 and retired in 2001 at the age of 60 he served in the Navy, Army, and Army National Guard. Bill A decorated veteran having served two tours in Vietnam as a Green Beret with the 5th Special Forces Group 101st Airborne with over 800 jumps earned the Bronze Star Medal for heroism in ground combat. He served his country proud and continued that by mentoring young children with the Kennebec Valley Young Marines with his close friends Mr. and Mrs. Robert Veilleux. Bill and his wife Debbie took many trips to Paris Island, FT Jackson SC, Annapolis, and Norwich University VT to support many of the young men and women who decided to join the military.

 

Bill married his soul mate on April 25th, 1981. Together they had five children two together and three daughters from his previous marriage whom Debbie accepted as her own Debbie loved them from the day she met them and always introduced them as her daughters from another mother.

 

Bill is survived by his loving wife Debbie Fuller, and Daughters Kara Fuller, Pamela Fuller, Catherine, and Henry Stratton.

 

Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren Tricia, Peter their children Callie and Tucker, Joseph and Carrie, Christopher, Cait and their child Elliott, Derrick, Tara their children Dustin, Derrick and Adalynn, Paul, Kasey their children Paul, Sawyer, and Nicholas, Tyson McKinley, Cailee, Justin their children Easton and Everleigh. Siblings Owen and Linda Fuller, Jerry and Debbie, Artie and Elaine, Effie and Dean Special friends Skeffington, Robinson, and Brother In-law Terry Hopkins. Many other Brother In-laws, Sister In-laws, Nieces and Nephews, and friends.

 

Bill was predeceased by his parents, brothers Raymond Fuller and Edgar (Robin) Fuller, and sister Jean Kuhn. Son William Alan Fuller Jr, Daughter Rosa McGrail, Grandchildren Jonathan McGrail, Dustin Small, Patrick LeClair.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice at Togus Springs VA Maine Healthcare System 1 VA Center-(135) Augusta, Maine 04330 memo "Hospice In memory of William Fuller", where Bill received wonderful care. From our hearts to yours we appreciate you. Services will be held at the VA cemetery chapel in Augusta on December 8 at 12:00 pm immediately following there will be a gathering at the Lions Club Readfield Rd in Manchester.
