Obituary of Manford H. Durkee

Manford H Durkee was born June 1,1940 at home on Islesboro, ME. He passed away on September 30,2023 at home on Clark Island, ME.

Manford graduated High School in 1958 and immediately joined the Coast Guard on October 28th. He served 22 1/2 years, most of it was Sea Duty. He was stationed in California, New York and Maine. 

He and his wife, Pat, had a total of 8 children together. Randy, Manford, Leonard and his wife Nancy, Kevin and his wife Cheryl, Cheryl and her husband Bryce, Larry, Lorry and her husband Lester and Buffy. Two daughters-in-law Linda and Patty. 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Manford was predeceased by his daughter Lorry who passed away just 15 days prior to his passing and by his daughter-in-law Pandy and son-in-law John. 

Services will be held at The First Baptist Church in St. George on October 21,2023 at 2pm followed by a Military graveside service. Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute wall at directcremationofmaine.com.
