Obituary of Michael W Smith

Mike Smith, 63, of Hebron, Maine, passed away on August 30, 2023. Born on June 16, 1960, in Portland, Maine, Mike was a beloved partner to Dianne Merwin and a devoted father to his daughter, Melissa Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Smith, and his daughter, Michelle Smith.

Mike was known for his gentle nature and had a heart of gold. He always had a smile on his face and found joy in the simple things in life. He was a true gentle giant who touched the lives of those around him.

In his free time, Mike enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his faithful canine companion, Penny. He loved taking long walks with Penny by his side, enjoying the peace and tranquility of nature.

Mike is survived by Patti St. Pierre, his mother, George Johnson, who was like a son to him, and his grandchildren: Iziah Smith-Wilson, Katie Smith, Josh Johnson, and Amber Johnson. He was also blessed with a great-grandson, Jaxson Randall, who brought immense joy to his life.

A private ceremony will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of services, contributions can be made to cancer research, a cause that was close to Mike's heart.

Mike's warm presence and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
