While it is a year after Carter’s passing, I just learned of his death. If his story book is not closed, I must add some notes that I hope will be shared.
Carter attended Acadia University which is where I first met him in 1965. His roommate was Raymond Moody, also of Camden (where are you now?). Ray and I were chemistry majors and he introduced me to Carter. The three of us enjoyed many many hours over the next four years exploring the country side and small harbours around Wolfville, Nova Scotia in vehicles his mom allowed him to bring to Acadia. Our common interest was photography and it led us to many adventures: pics on the beach below the cliffs of Cap Split; taking portrait photos of couples at formal dances; dance pictures at Centerville High NS which ended up with us spending the night in the car in a snowbank on dyke road near Canning; ++. Carter was a Leica camera fan and that enthusiasm led me to purchase an M-3 and Carter sold me some additional equipment he no longer needed. Carter was a great friend and he will be sorely misses.
Eric, Sue and I would love to hear from you (robertneil@rogers.com)

Carter gave us a tour of the house on Belfast Rd that he grew up in and the memories were precious. A groove in an upstairs banister from him lowering a bucket down to his Mother for lunch while he was being an Explorer! A saw cut in a chair rail from a new tool kit, which apparently did not go over well! His kindness in sharing these memories made the house more of a home.

Carter,
Although I only met you once, the kindness you showed my parent in laws in offering a ride in your steamboat was truly remarkable.
I also know the closeness of our families over the years that my step father Pete, if he was alive would have also have some stories to share.
You have an amazing daughter and grandchildren to carry your memory in their hearts.
