Robert McGlashing

Obituary of Robert M. McGlashing

Who knew that 30-plus years wouldn’t be enough? But today, on January 5th I found out. I knew when you were given the diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer that our time together was coming to an end. I was very grateful to have you cross over at home with our whole family.

Robert F McGlashing was born February 2, 1955, in Maynard, MA to Francis and Viola McGlashing. He was educated in the school systems until his freshman year when they moved to Maine. He completed his education at Skowhegan High School. He would say he was kidnapped in the womb and taken back to Massachusetts. He had a deep love for Maine, and the seasons- especially hunting.

Bob spent 10 years in the US Marines, from which he was honorably discharged. After that time, he worked in mental health. When he needed a  break from that, he balanced it in shoe shops or wood mills.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jodi, and their daughters, Devin (Michael Bishop) and Hannah (Tyler McGlashing).  Granddaughters, Kadylee and Brynna, as well as his 3 grand-dogs who will miss his willingness to always share a meal. He is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl and special brother-in-law Ronnie Richard, and Christine Stratton; many nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Dana Jones (Jeannie). He is predeceased by his parents and in-laws.

Loss is a piece of the love we live.

There will be a celebration of life on January 22, 2023, in Madison at the VFW.
