Obituary of Victoria Linda Miville

Please share a memory of Victoria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Victoria (Vicky) Miville, of Whitefield, passed away at home on December 18, 2019, surrounded by her long-time partner George, two of her children, and her fur baby. Vicky was born in Summit, New Jersey, the daughter of Anthony J. Picorale and Mary (Rackowski) Picorale. By profession, Vicky was a nurse who was passionate about patient care. She put herself through nursing school in Florida, while parenting her three children. She began her career as a private duty nurse and for a short time as a nurse in a private practice. In 1990, Vicky began a 26-year career at Togus Veteran’s Hospital, primarily on the Nursing Home Care Unit. Vicky retired in 2016. In her free time, Vicky loved being outside in nature, especially in the warmer months. She loved her gardens and had an amazing green thumb. Landscaping her yard in new and creative ways was often what she referred to as therapy for her soul. Vicky loved the ocean and the woods. She loved camping, backpacking, and especially fly fishing on remote ponds in Northern, Maine. She could be competitive and loved to tell the story of the day she out fished George, catching 52 fish in one day. On days spent inside, Vicky could typically be found baking, cooking, knitting, or trying another new craft project. Vicky taught her family about strength, hard work, and seeking adventure. She loved each of her children and grandchildren for their individual strengths and loved celebrating their successes. She was also there to listen and support them when life was hard. Vicky will be so missed by all who loved her. Vicky is survived by her brother, Rick Picorale; long-time partner, George Geis; son, Marc Miville; daughter, Sara Dunton and husband Brian; son, Rick Miville and wife Rachel; grandchildren Sophie Miville, Chris Kenney, Brennan Dunton, Claire Dunton, Emma Miville, Lilianna Miville, and Ryleigh Miville; nephew AJ Picorale; and fur baby Poppy. Vicky requested a formal service not be held. A celebration of her life will be held when warmer weather arrives, date to be determined. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” Anonymous
