Obituary of Fannie M. Harding
FANNIE M. HARDING, 67 of Waldo, died April 15,2009 at a local hospital. She was born in Morrill September 11, 1942, the daughter of Robert and Millie (Whitcomb) Hatch. She was the mother of five who loved animals and riding horses. She belonged to the Silver Harvest Grange for over 25 years where she was Past Master. She had also been Master of the Pomona Grange and was the Junior Deputy of Maine State Grange and a National Grange member. Fannie worked at the pants factory as well as Penobscot and Maplewood poultry plant. She also worked at Mullen’s Country Store for many years before going to Waldo County General Hospital. During her working years she made many friends whom she considered her extended family. She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her husband of 42 years whom she wed in 1967, Kenneth Harding of Waldo; her children, Robert and Sherry Robinson of Portland, Ellen and Richard St. Clair of Northport, David and Nancy Robinson of Belfast, Hazel and Rodney Young of Waldo, Walter Harding and his fiancé Vanessa Keresey of Belfast; her brothers and sisters, Nora Buck, Christine Cox, Olive “Polly” Harding, Roberta Hussey, and Mable Willey; her grandchildren, Tyler Robinson, Courtney Young, Derek Robinson, Jennifer Johnson, and husband Matthew, Michael Robinson, Timothy Robinson, and Aaron Robinson; one great grandson, Anthony “Jake” Croteau; several nieces, nephews, and special niece Kathy Welch. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 30, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at Paul Yard Cemetery in Waldo immediately followed by an open house to celebrate Fannie’s life at the Waldo town office.
