Obituary of Thomas E. Bagley

THOMAS E. BAGLEY JR., 86 of Albion, died April 18, 2009 at Maine General Thayer Unit in Waterville with his loving family by his side. He was born in Charleston, Maine January 2, 1923, son of Thomas E. and Madeline (Stubbs) Bagley, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked plowing and sanding Albion roads and served as Road Commissioner for 22 years. He operated his own bulldozer until he retired but still continued to operate a dozer part-time until the age of 83. He bulldozed all over - from Massachusetts to the Canadian border. Tom was a mason in the Liberty Lodge No. 111 for 61 years, a member of Benton Grange East Kennebec, Pomona Grange and the State and National Grange for over 40 years. He was predeceased by his parents; a granddaughter Jennifer Bagley; brother Richard Bagley; two nephews, Ricky and Jeff Bagley. Tom is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn (Lucas) Bagley of Albion; his children, Pamella Stevens and friend Clifton Higgins, David Bagley and wife Shirley, Donna Adams and husband David, all of Albion; brothers, Vernon Bagley of Unity, Clair Bagley of Belfast; grandchildren, Laura-Lee Stevens of Waterville, Christopher Stevens, Jason Bagley, David C. Adams and friend Erin Kirkpatrick, Douglas Adams, all of Albion; great-grandchildren, Anthony and C.J., both of Waterville and will be missed by a special friend, Frank Cronkite. At his request there will be no services. Special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff on 2-Central Thayer Unit. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
