Obituary of Dalton C. Hustus
Dalton C. Hustus (77)- of Freedom went to be with the Lord April 23, 2009 at Tall Pines in Belfast, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 9, 1931 in Jackson, son of George F. and Clara (Ward) Hustus. He enjoyed camping and fishing with the boys, hunting, especially coon and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved animals, especially his dog Pediddle. He trained horses, loved singing, music and sang with his brother, Dale, when he would visit him at Tall Pines. Dalton was a jack of all trades. He worked at Maine Reduction as a welder for many years and the Belfast Moosehead Lake Railroad as well as many other jobs. He is predeceased by his parents; his life partner, Annette Elkins; two children, Timothy Gene Hustus and Kevin Lewis Hustus; eight brothers and sisters, Arlene, Lauriston, Gertrude, Lloyd, Edith, Beatrice, Kenneth and Barbara. Dalton is survived by eight children, Victor Hustus and wife Beverley of Monroe, Paul Hustus and wife Molly of Searsport, Ellen Norrie of Bath, Debbie Bilger of Brooks, Joyce Sanborn and husband Perley of Freedom, Nathan Hustus of Searsport, Edward Hustus of Searsport, Tony Hustus and wife Debbie of Belfast; the mother of his children, Frances Teagle of Belfast; his siblings, Doris Scammon of Connecticut, Charlene Howell of Searsport, Arthur Hustus and wife Eva of Florida, Evelyn Heard of Searsport, Sterling Hustus and wife Carol of Florida, Althea Dakin and husband Herbert of Knox, Ronald Hustus of Florida, Roberta Poole of Florida, Elzadia Parsons and husband David of Corinth, Carol Shaw and husband Frank of Brooks, Dale Hustus and wife Elaine of Jackson, Wanda Rowe and husband Dennis of Searsport; 30 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 26th at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 27th at Brooks Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Shaw officiating.
