ZACHARY A. DEAN
COLUMBIA FALLS - "Zach" Dean, 17, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 25, 2009, the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Zach was born Oct. 27, 1991, in Blue Hill, to Timothy and Velma Dean.
Zach attended Columbia Falls Elementary from kindergarten to eighth grade, where he participated in all sports. He won numerous math awards and spelling bee awards. He attended Narraguagus High School and would have been a senior this year. He played basketball in ninth grade. In 10th grade he was on the honor roll and was so excited when he made it. He also received an award in geometry. He played summer league basketball and was looking forward to starting soccer and other sports. He was the junior class president, which he was very proud of. He had the second highest SAT score in his class, which he was extremely proud of. He couldn't wait to take it again so he could beat his first score. He could not wait to graduate. He worked at Wymans this summer and also on a harvester for Darren Prout. He was so happy to be working and making his own money. He loved playing basketball, dirt biking, four-wheeling and swimming. He was known as the class clown by all his classmates and teachers. He had a wonderful sense of humor and would do anything for anyone.
In addition to his parents, Tim and Velma Dean, who loved him very much, he is survived by his sister, Lindsey Dean of Dunedin, Fla., who he adored; one grandmother, Nydia Pinkham; one grandfather, William Dean; several aunts and uncles, but his Auntie Jayne was his favorite; and his special great-aunt, Audrey. He had several cousins and one very special one, Tyler Ahrens. He has many friends, but "special ones" were Josh Millett, Chris Davis, Russell Foss and Ryan Ramsey. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Buddy Pinkham and Victor Cox; his grandmother, Mar-jorie Dean; and by a "favorite aunt," Zella Cox, who he loved and missed very much.
Services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Narraguagus High School Gym. There will be a gathering in the cafeteria after the service for those who would like to attend.
