Obituary of Constance M. Davis

CONSTANCE M. DAVIS, 88 of Liberty, passed away January 6, 2010 in Bangor. She was born in Concord, New Hampshire August 4, 1921, the daughter of John and Jane (Treloar) Jenkins. She lived in Liberty for 56 years and would make beans and yeast rolls for people in town. Connie worked in the corn factory, at the saw mill, for Continental Telephone Co. and then Bethany Nursing Home in Albion. She was very active at Liberty Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for many years, and Living Word Church in South Montville. Her faith was very important to her. Connie was predeceased by her parents; two husbands, Arthur F. Adams and Ivan O. Davis; a brother Raymond Jenkins; three children, S. Diane Adams Higgins, Lois E. Adams Herbert, Jon S. Adams; several grandchildren and a great-grandson. Survivors include her children Carol L. Flood and husband William of Knox, Melanie D. Ripley and husband Dennis of Liberty, Janice Kelley and partner Paul Caron of Benton; daughter-in-law LuAnne Adams of Belfast; brother James Arthur Jenkins and wife Gloria of Veazie; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday January 11th at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Those who wish may make donations in Connie’s memory to Liberty Baptist Church, 96 Main Street, Liberty, Maine 04949.
