Obituary of Michael Joseph Miklos

Waterville—Michael “Mike” Joseph Miklos, 68, passed on Wednesday July 7, 2010, in the hospice unit at Togus Hospital in Augusta. Mike was born on November 23, 1943, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Michael and Mary Miklos. He was the youngest of 6 children. In 1982, Mike married Kathy Marshlick and accepted the responsibility of step-father to her 3 young children. Soon after their marriage though, Mike and Kathy decided to have 4 children of their own and agreed to continue raising their family of 9 in the Waterville area. Mike graduated from Hazelton High School in the early 60’s and continued on into the Air force where he worked as an auto body mechanic and tow truck driver. After serving 4 years in the military, he was discharged and worked at several odd jobs including a factory worker at a steel mill, meat processor at a slaughter house and night watchmen at a boarding home for veterans. Mr. Miklos was a member of several Catholic Church communities in the Fairfield and Waterville area. After his beloved wife of 20 years passed on, Mike liked to just relax at home watching television but did occasionally enjoy taking “joy-rides” to visit his family in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his five sons: Edward Hydock, Mark Miklos, Mike Miklos, Gerald Miklos, Patrick Miklos; and two daughters: Elizabeth Hydock and Barbara Hydock, all from different parts of Maine. Mike is also survived by several family members in the Pennsylvania and Oregon areas. Mr. Miklos is predeceased in death by his wife, Kathy and infant son Michael Robert. May he rest in peace! In lieu of flowers, please send funeral donation to Elizabeth Hydock at P.O. Box 114 Brunswick, Maine 04011. Funeral arrangements are being arranged through the family and no formal mass is being held. A graveside ceremony will take place at the Veteran Memorial Cemetery. Please visit the Morning Sentinel Website for the scheduled date and time.
