Obituary of Joan B. Okerholm

In Loving Memory Joan B. Okerholm 10/12/1946 - 7/22/2010 JOAN B. OKERHOLM, 63 died at her home in West Gardiner, Maine after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Medford, Massachusetts on October 12, 1946, the daughter of George and Mary Weston. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Paul Okerholm and their four children, Kristin Okerholm, her husband Trevor Herring and their daughter Linnaea of Yarmouth; Korin McGuigan, her husband James and their two daughters, Caelan and Evelyn of Auburn; Kurt Okerholm and his wife Krista of Alfred and Karl Okerholm of Portland. Joan was predeceased by her parents and her sister Mary Weston of Woburn, Massachusetts. She is survived by her brother David Weston, also of Woburn. Joan worked as an educational technician at the Gardiner Area High School for ten years and then at the family mushroom farm before retiring to take care of her grandchildren. Many thanks to Joan’s wonderful friends and family who helped in her final days and all the wonderful medical staff who cared for her. Joan was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 31 at St Leo's Catholic Church in Litchfield. The parish hall will be available at 9:30 am to allow friends and family to gather prior to the service. There will also be a celebration of Joan's life at the family farm 126 Bog Hill Road, West Gardiner starting at noon. All are welcome.
