Obituary of Jeannette Evans

JEANNETTE EVANS, 88, died August 5, 2010 in Belfast. She was born October 14, 1921 in Milbridge, the daughter of Vinal and S. Marie (Strout) Foss. She worked for many of the local shoe factories and for Penobscot Frozen Foods. Jeannette grew up on Monhegan Island until 1942 when she moved to Thomaston for four years and then spent the rest of her life in Searsport. She was a member of Overcomers Christian Fellowship. She enjoyed reading and especially loved her pets. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Vinal Foss Jr.; her 3 month old sister, Alice Marie Foss; and her husband Nathaniel Evans in 2009. Jeannette is survived by her son, Paul T. Evans of Searsport; her grandson, Paul T. Evans Jr. also of Searsport; two great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast on Monday, August 9th from 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev.
