Obituary of Leona Rita Kenyon

LEONA RITA (NOLETTE) KENYON, 77, died September 23, 2010 at WCGH Hospice Care Unit in Belfast. Leona was born September 29, 1932 in Winchendon, Massachusetts, the daughter of Albert and Marie Nolette of Canada. In her early teen years, she met William J. Kenyon while working at the same factory in Fitchburg, MA. They married January 7, 1951, then moved to Maine with one child and settled in Jackson where the family began and still resides. They had seven children. Leona worked very hard to be a great mom, wife and friend. She was known by many for selling Fuller Brush, Blair and Watkins products and worked at Belmont Pants factory turning coats. Leona was a Jehovah’s Witness. In her spare time she did a lot of canning and cooking from scratch. She especially enjoyed knitting – oh, how she loved knitting things! Also she did daily Bible reading where she read the entire Bible cover to cover several times in her past years. Leona was truly a very kind-hearted and loving woman. Leona is survived by her husband of 59 years, William J. Kenyon of Jackson; six children, Rita A. Kenyon of Colorado Springs, CO, Reggie S. Kenyon of Jackson, Irene E. Thibodeau of Queensbury, NY, Clyde B. Kenyon of Jackson, Brad J. Kenyon of Newburgh, the youngest, Sharlene L. Holland of Jackson and Ft. Payne, Alabama; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren as well as multiple other family members. Services will be held at Searsport Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 2, 2010 at 3 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
