Obituary of Edward Savery

Edward “Red” “Hum” Savery, 87, of Belfast passed away December 14, 2010 at Tall Pines Nursing Home. He was born in Searsport September 6, 1923 a son of the late Walter Nash and Maude Savery. Ed worked for many years as a truck driver for Maplewood Poultry and for State Sand and Gravel. He loved to drive trucks, spend time outdoors, work in his wood shed and go for scenic drives. Ed was a hard worker, had lots of friends and was well liked by anyone who met him. He was a Christian man who liked to visit various churches in the area. He also liked to listen to music. He was predeceased by his daughter Rena, one sister Frances Savery Bowen; his wives: Winnevere Dudley, Isabel Brown Savery and Edna Savery; his step-daughters Beverly Jean Brown and Lois Isabel Brown. He is survived by his son Rodney Savery of Blue Hill; his step-children: Sara Diekema and her husband Robert of Deerfield Beach, FL, Joyce Philbrook and her husband Wesley of Belmont, Lewis Brown Jr. and his wife of Cathy of Brooks, Wayne Brown and his wife Brenda of Belmont, Edna Delano and her husband David of Belfast, Beverly Collins and her husband Paul of Hudson, FL, Shirley Reynolds and her husband William of Whitefield, Theodore Rideout and his wife Sarah, of Whitefield, Chester Rideout and his wife Lenora of Rumford, Flora Drouin and her husband Robert of Gray, and Daniel Rideout and his wife Linda of Gardiner, all from Maine and Kathy Hustus of Louisiana. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 7th at Swanville Community Church with Pastor Rick Lambert officiating. Committal Service will be held at Grove Cemetery in the spring. Those who wish may make donations in Ed’s memory to Tall Pines Health Care, 34 Martin Lane, Belfast, ME 04915.
