Obituary of Leeman Lee Stuart

LEEMAN “LEE” STUART, 71, passed away at his home in Belfast on December 31, 2010. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on June 27, 1939, the son of Woodrow and Helen (Burnham) Stuart. He lived and worked in Newton Center, Massachusetts for many years and was a licensed real estate broker who also worked in electronic repair and did private security for homes. Lee retired to Belfast in 1999 and married his long-time friend, Suzanne Spender in Eastport overlooking Dog Island in 2002. He was a loving, generous, strong-willed and caring person who enjoyed being of help to anyone he could. Lee loved teasing people to help bring them out of a bad mood. He and his wife enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and they were both members of the Blue Hill Rifle and Pistol Club and the Great Farm Rifle and Pistol Club in Jackson. In his spare time, he enjoyed animals, bird watching and target shooting. He will be sorely missed by many friends, especially his wife, as they were never apart. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Stuart of Belfast; many friends who were made in both Massachusetts and his retirement in Maine. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Those who wish may make donations in Lee’s memory to Animal Rescue League of Boston or a local animal shelter. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
