Obituary of Florence Norcross

Florence Norcross, 82, of Dias Creek, NJ was called home by our Lord on Monday, March 7th 2011. She passed in the loving care of family and friends at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn ME. She was born June 13, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of John A and Elva Cook. She resided with her daughter Brenda Norcross for the last 8 years in Dixfield, Maine. Her hometown of 53 years was Dias Creek, NJ. She had so many joys in her life; riding the 4 wheeler with her daughter was one and going for weekend drives or just sitting and feeding the ducks on Weld Lake. She never put herself first, and most of all she loved her family. Her heart was filled with love for all. She had an open door and cared for many family members who adored her. She played dice with her family and friends. She loved her little dogs and was a good ‘MomMom’ to them and her grandchildren. She had Jesus in her heart and dwells with all those gone before her in Heaven. She is also survived by her step-daughter Paula Osterdahl and her husband Robert Osterdahl of Williamstown NJ; her brother Edward Cook and his wife Barbara of Williamstown NJ; Roger J Cook of Green Creek, NJ; her grandchildren Jimmy, Timmy, Mark, Mike, David, Heather, Bobby, Dawn, Michele, Rose and Chrissy; great grandmother of more than 30 and great great grandmother of two. She is predeceased by her husband Orla A Norcross, her sons; William C Prosser, David O Norcross of Dias Creek NJ; step-daughters, Dale Marie Shaw, Donna Lee Cook of Green Creek and step-son Orla A Norcross Jr of Collins Lakes; her brothers John (Bud) Cook, Rodger J Cook and Harry Cook and a sister Ruth Heayn, grandson Edward Shaw, great granddaughter Jessica Shaw. Florence was a member of the Lions Club of Greater Clementon NJ. A small memorial service will be held at the Dixfield Congregational Church, 10 High St, Dixfield, ME at 6pm Tuesday March 15th. There will be a memorial for Florence at the First Assembly of God in N Cape May NJ on April 18th @1pm. All are welcome to attend. There will also be a brief service at the graveside at the Tabernacle Cemetery in Erma, NJ @1:45 pm followed by refreshments at the annex at the First Assembly of God.
