Obituary of Nelson Riley

NELSON “LUCKY” RILEY, 61 of Rockland, passed away at Rockport March 18, 2011. He was born in Belfast June 1, 1949, a son of Herbert and Irene (Walker) Riley. He was a graduate of Belfast Area High School and then went into the Army. After his discharge from the Army he worked as Deputy Warden for 40 years at Maine State Prison in Thomaston and Warren. Lucky enjoyed spending time with his family barbecuing, fishing, and traveling. He enjoyed watching sports as well. He was predeceased by his father and his son, Scott Riley. Lucky is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Pamela Riley of Rockport; children, Beth Riley-Corey and fiancé Chuck Thompson of Waldo, Brianna Riley and friend Shawn Archibald of Manchester; stepsons, Daniel Dalfonso and friend Morgan Davey of Rockport, Peter Christopher Dalfonso of California; his mother, Irene Riley of Belfast; two brothers, Danny Riley and wife Nancy of Rockland and Chip Riley of Massachusetts; grandchildren Cody and Jaden; several nieces, nephews and cousins and his favorite dog “Riley” as well as his second family at the prison. Funeral services with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 21st at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
