Obituary of Helen Roberta Sniger

HELEN ROBERTA SNIGER, passed away March 22, 2011 at Belfast at the age of 88. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 6, 1922. Helen graduated from Brockton High School in 1940 where she won the Eastern State Drum Championship. Helen was married to John Sniger of Bridgewater, MA, and they are both survived by their five children, John Robert “Butchie” Sniger of Bridgewater, MA, Roberta Helen “Bobbie” Luz of Taunton, MA; James Fredrick Sniger of West Bridgewater, MA; Donna May Spear of Colorado Springs, CO and Richard David Sniger of Swanville, ME. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren as well as her sweet tiger cat, Missy, who is being cared for by her grandson, Benjamin and her granddaughter Harley. Helen was employed at Coatsfield’s of Brockton for over 15 years, and she also worked with WCCSA in Belfast where she retired in 1987. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with her kids and taking long walks in the woods. She also liked knitting and volunteering at the Waldo County General Hospital. Helen was a Deaconess and lifelong member of Swanville Community Church. Helen has chosen to be cremated and will be laid to rest next to her husband, John, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts following a memorial service which will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9th at Swanville Community Church.
