Obituary of Farnham W. Damon

Farnham W. Damon, born in Concord, MA in 1930, died on April 9 in Belfast, ME at age 80. He was a twin son of the late Winslow and Florence Damon of Concord, MA. Mr. Damon was a retired computer analyst, a member of the Unitarian Church in Belfast, the Corinthian Masonic Lodge in Concord, a 1953 graduate of Bowdoin College, and a friend of Minute Man Arc in his home town of Concord, MA. At age 15, Farnham and his twin brother Phillip bicycled from Concord, along the Connecticut River to Quebec City, Canada and around the Gaspé Peninsula. He was n Eagle Scout. His military experience during the Korean War was in fixed station radio repair in Heidelberg, Germany. This gave him a love for Germany, its culture and people. As an adult, Farnham travelled to over twenty countries on business and others for pleasure. With his twin brother and his brother’s family, he went on trips across the US and throughout Mexico and China. He enjoyed the enrichment classes and fellowship at the U of M Hutchinson Center in Belfast where he wrote interesting chronicles of his life experiences. He loved nature and animals, especially his cats. In addition to his twin brother Phillip and his wife Charlotte of Vista, CA and their children Bruce Damon, Keith Damon, and Beth Puente of Vista, CA and Judith Smith of Pacific Grove, CA he is survived by his brother Edward and his wife Elsa of Sequim, WA and their children Tom Damon of Puyallup, WA and Richard Damon of Arlington, MA. Other nieces and nephews include Winslow Damon of Newburyport, MA, Dorothy Hayes of Los Altos, CA, Paul Damon of Concord, MA, Laura Damon of Needham, MA and Louise Halstead of Belmont, MA.
