Obituary of Paul D. Nason

PORTAGE LAKE - Paul D. Nason, 77, went to be with his Lord Oct. 7, 2011. He was born March 24, 1934, in Presque Isle, to the Rev. Charles Harrison Nason and Doris (Higgins) Nason. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War. While he was in the service he became skilled in heavy equipment operation. With the knowledge he gained in the service he used it in various places during his working career. Upon returning to Maine he worked for Great Northern Paper Co. until he retired. Until his passing he cut and sold firewood. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace; two sons, Charles David and Kenneth; two daughters, Linda Smith and Sharyl Kozloff and their spouses; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie McCausland and Wileta Bell; nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Portage Lake Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Nason Memorial Fund, care of Ashland Key Bank. All donations will go to the Salvation Army.
