Obituary of Paul Kilgore Nickerson

PAUL KILGORE NICKERSON, 86 of Belfast, died peacefully at a local nursing home with his pastor and family at his side on December 16, 2011. He was born September 1, 1925 in Belfast and resided at 28 Robbins Road, the son of Marshall and Florence (Smart) Nickerson. He married Geneva Annie Martz on June 18, 1945 in Belfast. Paul worked for many years sharpening shears and knives at Maplewood Poultry Plant in Belfast. He loved to go hunting, fishing and had a love for horses. He also had a small boat that he and his wife enjoyed to go out fishing in. Paul is survived by three sons, Donald and his wife Donna, Duane and his wife Linda all of Jackson; David and wife Sharon of Belfast; two daughters Donna and husband James Moody Jr. of Belfast, Dale Nickerson of Holden, Maine; 13 grandchildren, Donald Jr., Anthony, Diana and Darcy Nickerson all of Jackson, Eric Nickerson of Marietta, GA, David Nickerson of Portland, ME, Dulcey Darville of Hallowell, James Moody III, Jackie Keller both of Belfast, Jeanette Moody, Jason Moody both of Brooks, Leanne Hills of Hermon, Raymond Archer of Holden; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife; his mother and father; his son Daniel Lester Nickerson; daughter- in-law Joan Nickerson, granddaughter Diane L. Nickerson; great-grandson James Moody IV; five brothers, Linwood, Clare, Lloyd, Theodore and Lester Nickerson and a very special friend, Evelyn Bryant. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 19th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 20th at Lighthouse Bible Church, Prospect Street in Searsport.
