Obituary of John H Mehuren

Searsmont/Patten, John H. Mehuren, 71 died August 4th at his residence in Patten. He was born in Montville, august 8th, 1940. The son of Harold and Doris “Brown” Mehuren. He was a poultry farmer most of his life, until the industry closed, then he raised cattle and horses. Until his retirement 14 years ago when he moved to Patten. He was an avid sportsman, loved to hunt fish and the out of doors. He also enjoyed draft horse pulling, and was a member of the Maine draft horses association. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce, in 2007, a son John Jr., two infant children; Joan and Jeffrey, and a daughter in law Joy. Also a brother Donald and two sisters; Esther and Hazel. He is survived by his children James Mehuren, and Jerry and his wife Renee both of Searsmont, his brothers and sisters, Carrie Cross, Earl Mehuren, Edith, and Howard Mehuren. Four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Friends may call on Friday August 10th, from 6-8 pm at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, where funeral services will be held Saturday August 11th at 10 am, interment to follow at Greenwood cemetery in Montville.
