Obituary of J. Wesley Malisk

J. WESLEY MALISK, 88, passed away March 14, 2013 in Belfast. He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on November 30, 1924, the son of George and Alma (Hauer) Malisk. He enlisted at 17 in the U.S. Navy, served on the USS San Diego and saw action during WWII. He enjoyed flying planes and loved his dogs. Wes enjoyed driving his motor home with Lois all over the country as well as with his daughter and her family. He acted as a tax assessor for Stockton Springs and was very involved in community activities. Wes was also active in Searsport United Methodist Church. He is predeceased by both parents; his first wife and a sister. Wes is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lois (Creigh) Malisk of Belfast; his daughter Maryanne Malisk Murphy of Atlanta, GA; brother George P. Malisk of Aventura, FL; grandchildren, Catherine Rose Marczan and Elizabeth Rose Murphy, both of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, R.J., Christopher Marczan; nieces and nephews, Curtis J. Jones and Anne Malisk; special friends George and Rochelle Russell, Cindy Bulkley and Pastor Steven McLeod. Family and friends are invited to a memorial reception on Monday, March 18th from 4-6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Light refreshments will be served.
