Obituary of Marjorie R. Maddocks

MARJORIE R. MADDOCKS, 92, of Stockton Springs formerly of Belfast, passed away May 2, 2014 at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast. She was born in Islesboro, Maine on May 7, 1921, daughter of William and Hazel (Pendleton) Randlett. She served in the U.S. Army as a nurse with the rank of Second Lieutenant. Marjorie worked for many years as a registered nurse at Waldo County General Hospital, both the new and old building, and Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Searsport and current member of First Church in Belfast as well as the Primrose Chapter of the Eastern Star of Belfast. She spent many of her years volunteering for March of Dimes, American Red Cross and at Harbor Hill. Marjorie enjoyed reading and doing puzzles in her spare time. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, H. Warren Maddocks; a daughter Ada B. Mullen; infant son Sonny; three siblings. Marjorie is survived by her sister Gertrude Rardin of Rockland, ME and her children, Kenneth Maddocks and wife Nancy of Salisbury, New Hampshire and Leah Maddocks of Stockton Springs; grandchildren Marat Morrill and husband Bob, Kenneth E. II and wife Stacey; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews. A grateful Thank You to her Friends and church family for helping her with her last Journey and a very special Thank You to all the staff of Waldo County General Hospital A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17th at First Church in Belfast, 8 Court Street, Belfast. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Church in Belfast, 8 Court Street, Belfast, ME 04915 or to Stockton Springs Ambulance, PO Box 339, Stockton Springs, ME 04981.
