Obituary of Lloyd Herbert Tripp

Lloyd Herbert Tripp Jr., 66 of Belfast, passed away Thursday morning peacefully after a year-long battle with cancer. His wife of 41 years, Sheryl, and his daughter held him in their arms as he drifted off to sleep. Lloyd is survived by his wife Sheryl Tripp, daughter Angel and husband Mike Farris of Morrill, son Lloyd Tripp III and wife Kimberly of New Gloucester, son Chet Tripp and wife Mary of Searsmont; four grandchildren Nicholas, Madison, Halle and Dawson; brothers Dean Hustus and wife Weldeena and Dennis Tripp of Searsport; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lloyd was pre deceased by his parents, Lloyd and Mae Tripp of Searsport; brothers Leroy Hustus, Dale Hustus, Larry Tripp, Eugene Tripp and Donald Tripp, all of Searsport. Lloyd embraced life to its fullest. In 1981 he was paralyzed from an automobile accident, but he didn’t let that get the best of him. He faced his challenges head on and found a way to continue doing what he loved most. He was an avid outdoorsman and took great pride in keeping his lawn manicured. He looked forward to his hunting trips with his boys, spending time with his grandchildren and training his “little girl” and canine friend, Ursa. Lloyd showed compassion for all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Cancer Care of Maine in Brewer. There will not be any calling hours. A private ceremony was held at his home with his family. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Smart Cemetery in Swanville. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast. Online condolences may be offered at www.ripostafh.com.
