Obituary of Myriah Marie Giguere Sylvester

Myriah Marie Giguere Sylvester, 35, of Palermo, died November 6, 2014 as a result of Stage 4 Breast Cancer that spread into her liver and bones. She was born April 8, 1979 in Canaan, ME, the daughter of Gale Grat and Jon Giguere. Myriah spent most of her childhood in Palermo as well as the last several years of her life with her mother and two children. Myriah spent most of her time caring for and being with her children, Tommy and Lily. This brought her the greatest joy and happiness. She enjoyed camping and fishing with family, and being home with those she loved. Myriah fought with a silent strength and courage that has been an inspiration to all those around her. Her positivity and hope during her battle has taught her family the true meaning of goodness and strength. Myriah was a wonderful and loving mother to her two young children, and loved and cared for them to the end, even in times of extreme pain and personal struggle. Her light still shines on her family, and she will continue to be a gift to all she has left behind and to all she may encounter beyond. Myriah is survived by her children Thomas, 11 and Lily, 7, her parents Gale of Palermo, and Jon of Augusta, her step mother Betty of Augusta, and her siblings Aymie, Adam, Robert, Nathan, Benjamin, Elijah, Lilah and Aydah. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Myriah died at home, in her mother's house, surrounded by her parents and siblings. The family will be having a small gathering at the home of Myriah’s mother on Saturday November 15th from 1-4pm. Friends and family are welcome to stop by at 1207 Hostile Valley Rd in Palermo to join us in honoring Myriah's life, strenth, courage, and the gift she was to this world and all those around her.
