Obituary of Reginald J. Bouchard

PORTLAND — Reginald J. Bouchard, 82, of Leeds, ended a full life of challenge and adventure and a busy life of doing on Friday, May 1, surrounded by family. Born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, Sept. 23, 1932, he was the son of William Bouchard and Methaide Couturier Bouchard. He came to the U.S. at the age of 3 and lived in New Auburn. He was a reporter, editor, publisher, author, world traveler, football player, engineer, scuba diver, restaurant owner, business man, inventor and home builder. He owned and operated Reggie’s Clambake for a 10-year period. He served from 100 people to 500 people at a time. The unique cookers he used were invented by him. He was married 57 years to Murielle Bergeron of Lewiston. Other survivors are daughter, Neena in New Hampshire; a son, Michael of Manchester; a daughter-in-law, Lynn; two stepgrandsons; two great-stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Annette Pontbriand of Lewiston. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Jean Gowell; and two brothers, Emile and Edmond.
