Obituary of Susan Marx Denyer

WESTBROOK - Susan Marx Denyer, 56, died June 17, 2015, at Springbrook Medical Center in Westbrook, Maine, after a long illness. Susan was born July 26, 1958 in Presque Isle, the daughter of Anne Annis Marx and Richard E.A. Marx. She attended schools in Canton, Buckfield and Belfast, and graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1976. Susan was married to Jay Bryant in 1977, from whom she was divorced in 1986. As a young mother, she single-handedly raised four children while working many different jobs, including MBNA, acting Port Director in Eastport, Maine, and Hart Transportation. In August, 2014, she finally accomplished her life-long dream of graduating college with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine in Machias. At the time of her death, she was employed at Fairpoint Communications in Portland, Maine. She was a loving, giving woman who provided food and shelter to a number of struggling young people over her life time. Susan loved to cook and enjoyed watching the Food Network. She passed that love on to her children, as evident by the fact that three out of four currently work in the food industry. She enjoyed gardening and was looking forward to moving to a new house when she became ill. Susan was predeceased by her mother Anne Marx in 1974 and by her husband, Peter Denyer in 2008. She is survived by her father, Richard E.A. Marx and her step-mother Cynthia Tanous Marx; her sons Nathan Bryant and wife Tsvetelina, Toby Bryant and wife Alexis; twin daughters Kathleen Bryant and Breana Bryan Maresh and her husband Dan; six brothers: Peter Marx and wife Donna, James Marx and wife Kathleen, David Marx, Richard Marx, Jr. and wife Heather, and Roger Marx and wife Cathy; her grandchildren: Aaron Marr, Mattias Bryant, Lyllian Bryant and Erixson Bryant; and nieces and nephews: Marianne Marx Musick, Joseph Marx, Morgan Marx, Gillian Marx, Paige Marx, Erin Marx, Philip Marx, Nathaniel Smith, Sophia Marx, and close family friends Debbie Jarvis, Heather Bryant and Gloria Howard. Susan is also survived by a large extended family of step-brothers and sisters: William Tanous and wife Christine, Marx Tanous, Laura Tanous Marshall and husband Brian, and Andrea Tanous Wilson and husband Joseph. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.ripostafh.com. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Stockton Springs on August 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
