Obituary of Lorraine M. Evans

WATERVILLE/ BANGOR LORRAINE M. EVANS, 89, of Bangor, formerly of Waterville, died June 30, 2015 in Bangor. She was born in Waterville on November 20, 1925, the youngest daughter (which got her the nickname Babe) of Raoul J. Fecteau and Lenora M. (Reny) Fecteau Poulin. She met her husband Paul while on vacation in Virginia Beach, VA. They were married on December 7, 1948 and resided in Jacksonville, Florida until Paul retired from the Navy in 1963 at which time they returned to Waterville to make their home with their two sons. Lorraine retired in 1988 from CHINET/Hutamaki Machine Shop in Waterville after working in the office for 22 years. After retiring she volunteered at Maine General Medical Center and also Senior Spectrum Muskie Center where she taught line dancing for over eight years. It was there that she was part of the dancers known as the Foxy Ladies. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Paul, her parents, two brothers, Raymond and Robert Fecteau, one step-brother Victor J. Poulin, two step-sisters Sister Carmen Poulin and Viola (Poulin) Collom. Lorraine is survived by her two sons, David and his wife Vicki of Bangor, Robert and his fiancée, Becky Ham of Brewer; two step-sisters, Sister Jeanette Poulin of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada and Theresa (Poulin) King of Fairfield. Lorraine had two grandsons, Jason and his wife Samantha of Waterville, Jamie and his wife Amy of Sidney, and two granddaughters Kate and Taylor, also two step-grandsons, Brian and his wife Gianna and Jared and his wife Jayne. Lorraine was blessed with three dear great grandchildren, Michael, Connor and Alysa and also several nieces and nephews. Her entire family was her life’s passion. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visiting hours. Friends and relatives are welcome to attend a memorial service to be held Wednesday July 8th at 11 am at Notre Dame Catholic Church of the Corpus Christi parish, Waterville. She will join her husband Paul at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Spectrum Generations (Muskie Center), 38 Gold Street, Waterville, ME 04901 or to Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery Association, PO Box 942, Augusta, ME 04332-0942 or to the American Cancer Society
