Obituary of Manfred Karl Schafflinger

Manfred Karl Schafflinger of Belfast Maine passed away Tuesday July 28, 2015. He was born in Nikolsdorf, Austria on December 1, 1948. While in Austria, he served in the Austrian Army and completed an extensive program in Dental Technology.He relocated to the United States after being recruited by Head Ski Company to coach their World Cup Slalom Racing Team. At the same time and with relentless ambition, he built and operated his own dental enterprise.In 1976, he married Julie LaPoint his wife of 39 years and had two children Sarah and Justin. Manfred’s compassionate devotion to his family manifested in his selfless generosity in caring for his loved ones and touched the lives of all who knew him. His devotion and care contributed to his deep National pride. He proudly earned his US Citizenship in 2006. Manfred brought beauty to his home and all of our lives through his various talents. He was deeply passionate about his dental work and took great pride in the upkeep of his home with his meticulous landscaping and decorating. He was an incredible artist and amazing cook, he enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to laugh and entertain family and friends. Manfred is survived by his Wife Julie, Children Sarah and Justin, Mother Hilde, Sisters Margot and Christina and Brothers Thomas and Lukas. A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Chapel in the Wentworth building on 147 Waldo Ave, Belfast, ME at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 8th, 2015.
