Obituary of Thomas Daniel Woodard

Thomas Daniel Woodard, 64 years old, of Saco, Maine passed away peacefully at Gosnell House with his family at his side on August 2, 2015. He was born on December 31, 1950 in Calais, Maine. He graduated from Calais High School in 1969. He obtained an education in business management and aeronautical engineering at Beal College. He had many employment adventures, including being on the last river drive of Great Northern Paper Company, where he was a boom jumper and dynamite man. He lived in Houlton, Maine where he married Cindy Folsom and had their daughter, Sharene L. Woodard. He worked for Central Electric Supply Company in Maine before moving to Concord, New Hampshire where he worked as assistant manager at Ralph Pill Electric Supply Company. It was there that he met his wife of 26 years, Shirley Bascom Woodard. They moved to Florida in 1989, where he received his degree in Computer Technology. He worked as a Project Manager for electronic components. Later, he enjoyed working with his wife and daughter as Office Manager at Shirley’s private practice, South Lake Counseling Services. After 13 years running their practice, Thomas was diagnosed with cancer and they chose to move back home to Maine. Tom had a love of outdoors – boating, motorcycles, traveling and most of all, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and large family. He is preceded in death by his parents, F. Daniel and Elaine (Claridge) Woodard, and brother-in-law Lewis F. Pollak, MD. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bascom Woodard of Saco, Maine; daughter Sharene L. Woodard of Clermont, Florida and step-son Travis D. Allen of Rochester, New Hamphire; step-daughter Cheryl L. Bois of Jefferson, Maine; sister Karen Pollak Littlefield of Scarborough, Maine; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at the New Life Assembly of God Church at 2pm in Raymond New Hampshire on Monday, August 10, 2015. Committal immediately following at Southside Cemetery in Nottingham, New Hampshire.
