Obituary of Patricia W. Hall

Patricia W. Hall went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 23, 2019. She was born on January 16,1942 in Hartford, CT. She fought a courageous battle against cancer. Patricia (Pat) was a wonderful woman who was loved dearly, will be missed and will always be cherished in our hearts. She is predeceased by her husband Oscar E. “Bud” Hall, her parents, James Foley and Phyllis Foley and her brothers Gary and James Foley; step-daughter in law, Margaret. Her story starts in Hartford CT, when she married Bud. Her family started with Bobby Hall and Robin Hall. They were followed by Carrie Orcutt, Michael Hall and Laurie Malmsten; step-children Martin J Hall, Robert Brooks, April Sullivan, Wayne Hall and Cheryl Hall. Pat loved to work with wood creating many crafts with intricacy. She shared a love of reading, games and puzzles - one could always see her head bent over her Kindle doing puzzles and games. Her favorite color was purple - the color of Royalty befitting to her. Pat loved the warm sunshine, natural beauty and flowers. One of her favorite sayings was “I can handle this”. Pat loved watermelon, any fruits or sweet treats. Each summer when she ate her first piece of watermelon, she likened it to “first taste of summer”. Intelligent and strong-willed but loved a simple life, seldom speaking of another in a negative way. She spent her childhood in Connecticut, moving to Maine after her marriage to Oscar “Bud” Hall. She cared for Bud until his passing, becoming a widow at age 47. Pat loved Maine, perhaps it can be traced back to that time she, Sandra and Gary spent a summer with Grammy Frieda. She was 6 years old and had many good memories of that time. Pat had adventure in her lifetime. She traveled across the country with her sister Chris, and two 7-month-old puppies in a Ford Ranger with no air conditioning in July. Like all cross-country journeys, it has its own tale while traveling, sleeping at rest stops, driving to Florida, North Carolina and then to Maine. Prior to her return to Maine, she purchased a bright yellow Ford Pinto - her favorite car, she loved that car! She worked in California in a school setting up a computer lab for the children and organizing the library. She enjoyed her time there and was well liked by all who knew her. Pat never shied away from hard work, never complaining about the “hand she was dealt”. Pat was honest and hard working. She prided herself on her independence always paying her bills on time. She was a good cook, understood the mechanics of a car, knew the different types of wood and the different sizes of it. She knew computers, ran a business, was a visiting home health aide, and nursing assistant in a nursing home distributing medications to the residents. She did whatever was needed to keep a roof over her family’s head. Pat loved old movies on TV and was great at the “Wheel of Fortune”. Many hours were spent with her family and grandchildren. Quality time was important to her. Patricia spent her life caring for her family. She was creative and kind-hearted to all who knew her. She was deeply loved. We were so blessed to call her Mom, sister and friend. The love she gave and the love she received will be held near to our hearts. She is survived by her children: Bobby Hall and wife Jenn, Robin Hall and wife Denise, Michael Hall and wife Judy. Carrie Orcutt and husband Kevin, Laurie Malmsten; her loving sisters who were her rock throughout her battle: Nancy Kitchener and husband Barry, Chris Foley, Sandra McNeil and husband David; step-children Martin J Hall, Robert Brooks and wife June, April Sullivan and husband Bob, Wayne Hall, Joanne and Cheryl Hall. Her grandchildren were her heart and joy: Bobby Hall Jr., Patty Hall, Kayley Orcutt, Aaron Ross, Sara Ross, Heather Malmsten, Melissa Correll, Devin Hall and several great grandchildren. We would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Tissues in Athens for their loving care, Redington Fairview General Hospital staff, Anthony Burnette, Ashley Perry, Ali Dangler. Their dedication to ease her suffering went above and beyond any expectations we may have had. We willingly and silently give you to God. You suffered enough; it was time for you to go home to the Lord. We thank you for all that you have been to us. We release you to God to continue your journey, may it be glorious and sweet. Graveside service in Island Fall Maine to be announced.
