Obituary of William H. Treworgy

William "Bill" H.Treworgy, 83, of Milbridge, passed away November 10, 2017. Bill liked to spend time with his family and relatives at the camp he built on Swan Lake. He enjoyed fishing, playing horse shoes, golfing, and sharing meals with the family. He especially liked cooking his famous "Grampy's Chicken" and his homemade Grape-Nut ice cream. Bill loved watching his beloved New York Yankees as well as football games and many other Maine sports. Sports was one of Bill's favorite past times. Bill was very proud of his sons and daughter-in-laws and all seven grandchildren. One of his fondest memories was a trip the Treworgys took out west with the entire family in tow, visiting the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Sequoia National Forest, The Hearst Castle and the coast of California. Bill was very community service oriented throughout his career & life, starting out as Assistant Village manager of Skokie Illinois, to the Town Manager of Essex Junction, Vermont, to the Chief Budget Director of Montgomery County, Maryland. After retiring for the first time, Bill became Town Manager of Milbridge Maine as well local Tax Assessor, Water District Trustee, 911 Committee Member, Planning Board Member, Sewer Committee Member, Code Enforcement Officer and Budget Committee Member. Bill served on some of these boards and committees even after retiring for a second time. Bill will be sorely miss by his family, friends and former co-workers. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday November 16, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Seaworthy Event Center located at 23 Main St (US 1) in downtown Milbridge. There will be a graveside service on Friday November 17, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery in Swanville ME with a luncheon to follow at the Swanville Community Church on Townhouse Rd in Swanville.
