Obituary of William L. Gwynne

William Lee Gwynne died from complications from heart surgery and lung disease at Maine Medical Center on August 2, 2017, in Portland, Maine at the age of 73. William is survived by his daughters Iris Elizabeth Gwynne of Boston, MA; Aizhan Julia Gwynne of Yarmouth, ME; and his sisters Barbara Rogers of San Bernardino, CA; Christine Nibert of Columbus, OH; and his brother, Jeffrey Gwynne of Wellington, FL. William was born on April 9, 1944 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to William T. and Janet L. Gwynne. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1966 with a degree in Speech and Humanities, and a Masters Degree in Theatre from the University of Hawaii in 1968. He was married for 25 years to Patricia Limon Sands of Yarmouth, ME, with whom he remained good friends after their divorce. William worked for many years as a Professor of Theatre at Ohio Wesleyan University, and recently worked as a sales associate for Sherwin Williams in Yarmouth, Maine.
