Obituary of Elizabeth D. Douglas

Elizabeth "Bette" D. Douglas, age 94, passed away on June 27, 2017. Bette was born June 1, 1923 in Ellsworth. Bette was predeceased by her loving siblings, Barbara Donnell Boyer and Vincent (Bud) Donnell. She is survived by daughters Jean and husband William Boddy of Millinocket. Catherine and husband Dennis Higgins of Ellsworth; 5 grandchildren: Traci O’Neill, Dean Paine, John Boddy, Kelly Paine & Erin Clark; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. You may remember Bette from the school lunch program at Bar Harbor High School and Emerson Conners. She was also a familiar face of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce for over 50 years. Watching the children play across from her home brought many smiles to her face. In keeping with Bette’s wishes, burial will be private.
