Obituary of Rebekah A Woodbury

Rebekah Althea Henderson-Woodbury passed from this life walking into the arms of her merciful God and Savior on Tuesday October 11, 2016 surrounded by family and friends after a short illness. Born on March 19, 1975, Bekah started talking at 9 months old. At 2 1/2, she began tapping on a tambourine at her parent's Church. Her family discovered that she was gifted and could play music by ear. When she turned 8, she would mimic her mother's keyboarding perfectly. Her talent developed as a musician, singer and songwriter to directing choirs, and playing and singing in multiple Churches. At the age of 16, she won several awards at a music conference for writing her own song lyrics, music and performing them. Bekah, like both her mother and grandmother, wrote heartfelt poetry. She loved to make bold fashion statements and would put together an elegant outfit from treasures discovered at local shops. Bekah loved her children Abi, Sam, Xavier and granddaughter Brooklynn with all her heart. She was a great cook who enjoyed preparing them savory meals. She was a creative soul who felt things deeply. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed. Survivors include: her parents, Reverend Walter & his wife Terry Henderson of Thomaston, ME; a daughter, Abigail Ward and grand-daughter Brooklynn, both of Lisbon, ME; sons, Samuel Ward of Auburn, ME, Xavier Woodbury of Augusta, ME; a paternal grandmother, Althea Henderson of Augusta, ME; siblings, Keith Henderson and his wife Simone of Belmont, NH, Troy Henderson and his wife Debbie of Windsor, ME, Reverend Wesley Henderson and his wife Caroline of San Antonio, TX, Naomi Miller and her husband Fritz of Union, ME, and Adam Henderson and his wife Angela of Rockland, ME and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at her parent's Church Apostolic Christian Life Center on the corner of Buttermilk Lane and Thomaston Street in Thomaston, ME. There will be a reception following at the American Legion in Rockland, ME.
