Obituary of Carol M Cochran

Carol May (Spooner) Cochran October 4, 1938 - August 5, 2016 Augusta, Maine- Carol May (Spooner) Cochran, age 77, passed away Friday August 5th. She was born on October 4th 1938 in Calais, Maine and was raised in Woodland, Maine. She was educated at Woodland High School. She married Hiram Owen Cochran of Codyville, Maine on March 14th,1956 and had 3 wonderful children, Charles Cochran, Linda (Cochran) Ayer, and Randall Cochran. They later moved to Augusta. Carol was a member of many organizations including, Eastern Star (50 Years) and the Legion Auxiliary (many years). She worked for the State of Maine as a secretary for many years before retiring. Carol was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She enjoyed spending her time reading, going to the movies, shopping/ yard sale-ing, and spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded by her parents Athena and Claude (Pat) Spooner, daughter Linda (Cochran) Ayer, and son Charles Cochran. Her spirit still lives on with her husband of 60 years Hiram Cochran (Augusta, Me), her son and daughter-in-law Randall and Bonney Cochran (Dixfield, Me); four grandchildren: Dusty Cochran and wife Jodi (Chelsea, Me), Kristina (Ayer) Goggins and husband Shane (Independence, Or), Katrina Ayer (Bangor, Me), and Deidre Cochran (Pittston, Me); great-grandchildren: Ryley Lyons (Bangor, Me), Madison and Owen Cochran (Chelsea, Me), and Brent Trundy (Pittston, Me). Carol was an incredible women and will be missed dearly by many. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 17th at 2:00pm at Penney Memorial Church, 393 Water Street, Augusta, Maine.
